In the first quarter of 2022, the top communication apps in Russia exhibited significant trends in downloads, revenue, and active users on a unified platform, according to Sensor Tower data.

Telegram saw a consistent rise in weekly downloads, peaking at 875K in the week of March 7. The app also had a notable increase in weekly active users, reaching approximately 84.4M by mid-March.

Getcontact from Getverify LDA experienced fluctuations in weekly revenue, peaking at around $91K in the week of January 24. Weekly downloads declined from 534K in early January to around 141K by the end of March. Active users fluctuated, ending the quarter with about 4.2M.

WhatsApp Messenger had steady weekly revenue early in the quarter, but it dropped to zero by March. Downloads decreased from 579K in the first week of January to approximately 276K in the last week of March. The number of active users remained relatively stable, ending the quarter at about 104.8M.
